Israeli General: Hezbollah Destroyed Lebanon

Jul 26th, 2006 by Richard Silverstein | 3

Chalk this one up to Twilight Zone-type thinking. Israeli general, Benny Gantz, is quoted in the NY Times answering this question:

When asked what the Israeli military had achieved after two weeks of fighting, General Gantz replied: “I would suggest asking what Hezbollah has achieved. They came as defenders of Lebanon but basically have destroyed the country.”

Yet another example of the clouded thinking of Israel’s military establishment. ISRAEL destroyed Lebanon. Hezbollah only gave them excuse to do it. If Hezbollah deserves an ounce of blame, Israel deserves a pound–or ten.

It takes a savage to know a savage. Thanks for the hate. It discredits you more than you could ever discredit those you hate.
